First Chief Election Commissioner of India was Shri Sukumar Sen and his tenure was 21st March, 1950 to 19th December, 1958. At present Shri Sunil Arora is the Chief Election Commissioner of India. He take the charge of the Chief Election Commissioner on 02nd December, 2018.
